Mario Badescu Skin Care

Yay, my package came in for my Mario Badescu Skincare samples.  I heard about this product line from Xsparkage.  I would say I have semi problematic skin, so I wanted to see if this line would help.  After watching Xsparkage's review, I decided to go to the website and take their skin care survey like Xsparkage did.   I think I filled out the survey in the beginning of November.  I waited and I got an email with recommended products and an invitation to recieve free samples.  I finally got them a few hours ago and tried out 4 of the 7 samples.

These are the samples I recieved with the descriptions from www.mariobadescu.com.

Botanical Facial Gel
A refreshing oil controlling cleanser. This non-soap, non-foaming, gel cleanser is deep cleansing and refreshing for oily skin. Removes make-up, dirt and oil thoroughly without over drying skin. Exfoliating Alpha Hydroxy formula helps prevent build-up that can cause blackheads and pimples.

Special Cucumber Lotion
Refreshing, disinfecting and deep cleaning astringent that is effective in drying up existing acne blemishes while preventing new eruptions. Sulfur and soothing Cucumber based, acne fighting formula that is non-drying and non-irritating.

Hyaluronic Eye Cream
Hyaluronic Acid formula helps lock in the skin’s own natural moisture without the use of heavy, greasy oils. Absorbent, medium weight cream for use day or night. Aloe based formula makes this cream suitable for all skin types, even sensitive.

Oil Free Moisturizer (SPF 17)

Like the Oil-Free Moisturizer, this lotion has the same benefits for oily and problem skin with added daily sun protection to keep scarring and discoloration to a minimum.

Drying Mask
Help clear acne eruptions. This Colloidal Sulfur based mask dries existing pimples and oil and helps clarify problematic, acne prone skin. Soothing Calamine makes this mask safe and gentle for most skin types. Great for back and chest acne eruptions as well. Best when used as a companion product to our Healing & Soothing Mask and Buffering Lotion.

Drying Cream
Acne cream that conceals! Drying Cream is an effective treatment to dry up small under the surface bumps and pimples. Just a few dabs smoothed on the erupted areas prevent pimples from getting larger and spreading out of control. Aloe rich cream conceals and heals erupted pimples.

Strawberry Face Scrub
Made with real Strawberry seeds that gently buff away flaky skin while natural AHA’s break down dulling build-up to unclog pores and prevent blackheads. It improves skin's overall texture by revealing healthy, glowing skin.

So I've used the botanical facial gel, special cucumber lotion, hyaluronic eye cream, and oil free moisturizer (SPF 17).  So far I like them.  My skin feels nice a smooth after using the products and it isn't too dry or oily.  Also I like how the products don't have strong fragrances.

AND look at the size of the samples!  In the photos below, I have a MAC eyeshadow next to the samples so you can see how big the samples are.

I will have an update on these products in a few weeks.

Thanks for reading!

Happy Thanksgiving

Hello all,

Happy Thanksgiving!  I hope everyone has a wonderful day.  It's 1:49am and I just woke up from my nap...Lol.  So every Thanksgiving my sister and I cook dinner for the famz.  It's gonna be at grandmas house and I'm guessing around 20 people for dinner.  I have to start prepping food now.  I was gonna do it earlier after dinner but I had a massive food coma and fell asleep.

What's on the menu?  Turkey of course!  Thank god my grandpa is gonna take care of that for us (I don't wanna mess up the big bird).  My dishes will be rosemary garlic lamb chops, garlic sauteed string beans (maybe with bacon, not sure yet), cucumber salad, garlic roasted mashed potatoes, and gravy (cheating this year with costco gravy).

The sister will be making guac and salsa, spinach salad w/ homemade poppyseed dressing, corn bread casserole, clam chowder, sweet potato casserole, and mac and cheese casserole.

Well, I should start prepping now so I can get some sleep.

MAC pigment swatches (BLUES)

So I tried really hard to make a video but the lighting was so terrible it didn't show up right on my camera.  I picked out the pics that represented the colors the best.  I really need to take a photography class or something because my camera skills are horrible so I apoligize in advance for the blurry photos.

Each photo has 2 pigment colors with 2 swatches each.  Left is dry, while the right is swatched with MAC mixing medium.

Here we go,

L-R:  Mutiny(limited edition), Azreal Blue (limited edition)

L-R:  Blue (limited edition), Clear Sky Blue (PRO matte-discontinued)

L-R:  Cornflower, Light Blue (PRO-discontinued)

L-R:  Blue Storm (limited edition-discontinued), Naval Blue
I think they got rid of Blue Storm because Naval Blue looks almost exactly the same.

L-R:  Steel Blue, Deep Blue Green

Halloween 2009

So this Halloween  I did some makeup for my sister Bev(left) and her friend, Kim.  Bev wanted a cheap costume, so we figured a vampire would work since I have the makeup for it and she had some items in her closet that would work.  Please note that she messed up the blood and I didn't have time to redo it before they left  =D.  They went out clubbing that night and the makeup lasted all night (except for the little fishnet design on the side Kim's face).  I think they took a power nap at a friend's house after clubbing and when they woke up, both makeups were still looking good (from what they told me).  I saw them around 8am the next morning right before they got to wash their faces and the makeup didn't look too bad.  I'll have a list of products I used for each look.

It took about an hour to upload for a 7 min video. I wanted to edit this one down, but I kept getting some kind of error when I tried to open it in Window's Movie Maker. I will figure it out soon so I can start working on more videos. Okay, see ya next video.
